Our expertise with larger wind projects has led to our advice being sought by clients interested in small, micro and medium-sized wind generator projects.  It is increasingly common for planning authorities to request an ecological assessment when considering a <50kW single turbine planning application. 

We appreciate that those considering small wind generators are often small organisations, individuals and charities with limited resources available.  We only advise any assessment we believe is necessary to ascertain the suitability of a potential site, and aim to make any fees proportionate and competitive.

Project Examples

  • Developed turbine location selection guidance for a small-wind generator installation and financing business. This  included the creation of an easy to use flow diagram to help show when an ecological issue may occur.
  • Site visit assessments including bat activity surveys at potential micro turbine sites in Norfolk, Suffolk and Herefordshire.
