Species Monitoring, Research and Analysis

Our research at Wild Frontier Ecology focuses on improving the reliability and efficiency of survey techniques.  To date we have designed experiments and analyses to improve great crested newt and bat surveys.

Our expert ecologists also have the capacity to plan and undertake large scale site and species monitoring projects.

Team members of Wild Frontier Ecology have research experience throughout the UK and internationally including the management of large research projects.  Our statistical expertise is extensive and includes mark-recapture and home range analysis.

Services

We are able to design, execute, analyse and report surveys or experiments for a specific objective or ecological question. Our expertise includes:

  • Spatial analysis including home range estimation using ArcView GIS;
  • Multi- and single state individual-based mark-recapture analysis incorporating individual and environmental covariates using MARK;
  • Programming, graphics and statistical analyses including multivariate analysis, generalised linear mixed effects models, generalised additive models and simulations using R.
