Our ecologists have considerable mammal expertise, and are adept at carrying out surveys and specifying mitigation methods for protected species including badger, otter and water vole. Our skills in surveying for non-protected species such as deer, small mammals (shrews and rodents) and others may be of assistance in site monitoring and management.

Project Example

We undertook protected species surveys for water vole and otter along multiple sections of the River Wensum SAC targeted for Environment Agency restoration works. As part of this project WFE monitored the displacement mitigation for water voles at County School Bridge, and carried out a destructive search of burrows.
